  1. Hi Audriel. Are you feeling encouraged with your progress?

  2. Hi CHance, no not particularly. There hasnt been progress. I guess that it is merely a standstill is better than gaining, but I'm constantly busy and never feel like I have more time to devote to weight loss efforts besides the already set aside times. I happened to remember to post this outfit, it's been a staple in my wardrobe for about 4 years.

    Thank you for asking :)

  3. Hi Audriel,

Bear with me, ok? I'm gonna try to tread very lightly here because I know it can be a bit discouraging and I don't want you to feel that way. I'm not trying to tell you what to do, I just want you to see another 'Scale', if you will.

Gaining weight is not the issue, Audriel. First off, feeling good---no, feeling great about yourself beats everything. I don't think you should weigh yourself as a means of progress. You'll just keep seeing 'weight' and therefore continuing to 'wait' for progress, when it may already be there.

As I've said before, I've seen someone make the changes in their health/body and the scale can be more hurt than help. Of course, exercise is quite valuable because our bodies are built to respond to it, but also eating healthy as well. I know you're doing these things, but if you do choose to judge yourself in physical terms, I wish you'd look more at losing inches than losing weight.

To prevent myself from getting too long-winded here, I'll try to make my point more concise. Toning and sculpting your frame is the best way towards a more healthy looking you. I think you should start examining things from that angle. Just because you're 'gaining' doesn't mean you're not looking good/healthy. Because you are! So, be encouraged. :)

  4. I think that is why I have been so discouraged, there has been no inches, as well as no pounds.. I'm well aware muscle is more heavy but takes up less space, and have been working on toning, yoga, strength training, as well as fat burn with cardio. I'm horribly zeroed in on the physical aspect just because about a year ago I was 25 lbs lighter, well into my weight loss journey [as described on the sister blog to this site] and I felt better, healthier, was just doing so much better and then what I think is arthritis hit my knees and sidetracked my ability to do about half of the exercises I enjoyed doing. :) Imk trying to find the balance in my life and to let go of the obsession.

  5. Hi Audriel,

I apologize. I've spent the past three weeks preparing and packing to move and then, ultimately, moving. :) I'm sure you understand how much of a task that can be. So, I'm sorry I didn't respond earlier.

I think I understand better, as you have described your situation more vividly. Your last sentence says it all. Balance is vital in life because it keeps us stable. I do hope you start to feel encouraged, though. There's a scripture in Proverbs 17 that says: 'A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.'...I do hope you find good cheer soon.

I hope you find your groove in due time. And please do share. It would encourage me as well. :)

Thanks and have a great day,

    Chance
